Call of Chaos Guide

The Call of Chaos is the 8th anniversary World Arena mode, live from 27 August 2026 through 8 October 2026 02:59 UTC (Fall 2026 season). It is not a replacement for ranked RTA. It is the lighter 3v3 Smilegate added so players who hate a long pick-ban can still fight. You enter from the Call of Chaos banner on the Arena screen, you spend one Ticket of Chaos, and you need Account Rank 40. If you are still in story boots, stay on Hunt. If you already draft in RTA, this page is the rule set that makes the mode feel like a different game.

How a match actually ends

You do not win by wiping the three enemy heroes. You win by destroying the opponent’s Sentinel (also called Guardian in some notes) sitting in the back row. While that Sentinel is alive it revives fallen heroes. That is why a team that looks dead can still steal the match, and why extinction and anti-revive kits from ranked RTA do not automatically translate. Kill the structure. Everything else is delay.

Mid-fight you pick a Fate — a one-shot effect that buffs your side or debuffs theirs. Fate is the roguelike layer. Available Fates rotate with the season. Do not memorize a Reddit screenshot from week one as law. Read the three options when they appear, then pick the one that finishes the Sentinel faster, not the one that looks rare.

Pick-ban is a minute, not a novel

Unlike sequential World Arena drafting, Call of Chaos flashes a random hero pool and gives you about one minute. You can reroll heroes you hate (official notes allow up to two or three rerolls depending on the live client — check the button, do not assume). There is no long ban phase. Pre-bans from ranked (Archdemon’s Shadow, Belian) still matter if they appear, but you cannot spend two minutes hovering.

Bring a 3-hero core you can actually play on the Speed gear you own. Cleave that needs a 280 opener will brick here just as it bricks in Arena. Tank-down that needs a 4-man soul weaver chain also bricks, because you only have three slots. Flexible dual-role units and anyone who hits a back-row structure are worth more than a hypercarry who only wins if the draft is perfect.

Challenge structure and rewards

A run is a Challenge: it ends at 7 wins or 3 losses. More wins pay better. Completing a run grants ranking points and shop currency. Seasons tally rank from those points. The Fall 2026 window closes 8 October 2026. After that, wait for the next season’s hero pool and Fate list. Tickets of Chaos are the entry item; do not spend them on a 2-loss tilt run if you still need the 7-win chest this week.

Available heroes and Fate effects update by season. A unit that was legal in August may be rotated. That is the point of the mode: Smilegate said they have ~400 heroes and only ~100 see real content. Call of Chaos is where leftover names get a job.

How this sits next to ranked RTA

Ranked World Arena still exists. Champion frames still come from there. Call of Chaos is the arcade lane. If you wanted a calmer PvP, this is it. If you wanted to practice drafts for E7WC (qualifiers 12 September 2026), stay in the sequential mode covered by the Arena guide and the PvP tier list. Mixing the two in your head is how you ban the wrong name.

Gear still follows speed tuning. The first unit that acts still matters. The Sentinel just changes the win condition after that.

A first-week plan

  1. Hit Rank 40. Get one Ticket of Chaos from the event / shop, not from panic crafting.
  2. Enter from the Arena banner. Do not hunt a hidden lobby icon.
  3. Reroll until you have a soul weaver plus a unit that can hit the back row.
  4. Spend Fate on Sentinel damage or a revive shut-down, not on a vanity buff.
  5. Stop the Challenge at 3 losses. Start a new run. The shop currency is the point.
  6. When the Fall season ends on 8 October, park the tickets and go back to Hunt energy.

Lisette’s Time Reversal still works on heroes; confirm whether it interacts with the Sentinel before you build a whole team around her. Lisette is a ranked problem more than a Chaos problem until the Fate pool says otherwise.

The 8th anniversary notes are the patch stamp. This page is how you press the button without throwing the ticket.
