Paradise Lost Walkthrough

Paradise Lost is the 8th anniversary side episode, live since 27 August 2026. The client lists it as Side Episode: Kayron — Paradise Lost. It is the first fully voiced 1st World story: Orbis in the loop that kept dying and being rebuilt, before Ras existed. You play through Kain, a mercenary who walks into the Abyss and meets Lisette (a fragment of Goddess Diche in human form) and Politis (here for her own reasons). This page is how you enter, what each chapter unlocks, and how the loaned heroes work. Patch stamps and daily summons sit on the 8th anniversary update. Kits sit on Lisette and Uncharted Pioneer Politis. Do not treat this episode as a Lisette unlock quest — she is a Mystic / pack unit either way.

If you have not finished Episode 1 Chapter 6, stay on getting started. The gate is real. Hunt energy can keep running in Background Battling while you watch the cutscenes.

Entry and loaned heroes

Requirement: clear Episode 1, Chapter 6, “For Hope.” That is early-game story, not a Hunt check. New accounts that bound Selective Summon and ran Connections can enter the same week they installed.

Episode Progression Heroes are added for Paradise Lost. You can use them even if you do not own them. Stats on those loaned copies may differ from the summonable versions. That is the same pattern as last year’s Rain of Fading Embers. Use the loaned Lisette / story units to push chapters; do not spend molas on a copy you do not own because the side episode made her look strong.

Kain is a playable NPC, not a banner. There is no Kain pickup. Apostle of the End Kayron is a later introduction. The man you control in the Abyss is the human-days portrait, and the man you fight at the end of Chapter 3 is still named Kain on the boss bar.

The three chapters

Smilegate shipped Chapters 1–3 on 27 August. They land in Story Journal > Side Episode: Kayron – Paradise Lost as you unlock them.

ChapterTitleWhat it is
1Into the AbyssKain enters; first Abyss stages; BGM Lost Paradise after Seed of Despair
2Mercy and SacrificeLisette’s role becomes clear; BGM Even Oblivion Becomes a Curse after Sin of Existence
3Stigma of Original SinClimax; BGM Breaking the Chains of Fate after Erosion; Chapter 3 boss is Kain

Stage names worth tracking for journals:

  • 1-1 Echoing Screams — illustration exists in the stage but does not register in Art Journal. Do not farm it hoping to fill the book.
  • 2-5 Greed and 3-3 Whispers of Futility — clearing these (and other listed stages) unlocks illustrations into Art Journal > Side Episode: Kayron – Paradise Lost.
  • Finish Chapter 3, Stigma of Original Sin for the background pack Lower Levels of the Abyss.
  • Clearing the final stage plays the side-episode video title.

BGM lives in Music Player > Side Episode: Kayron. Titles on the 27 August notice: Lost Paradise, Even Oblivion Becomes a Curse, Breaking the Chains of Fate, and Blank Soul.

Combat, not a lore skip

Side-episode stages still use Combat Readiness. Loaned heroes carry most of the story, but Chapter 3’s Kain fight is a real boss: players recorded full-fight builds because a raw story team can stall. Bring a healer and a defense break. If your account already one-shots Wyvern, the same Ice core (Furious, Sigret, Muwi, Angelica / Angelic Montmorancy) will brute most maps. If you are still in story boots, use the loaned progression heroes and do not spend Leifs retrying a cutscene stage.

Kain as a boss is not the same job as Kayron in Arena. Do not copy an RTA Kayron draft into Chapter 3 and expect the bar to melt. Watch one real recording of the Chapter 3 fight (embedded mid-page), then copy the soul weaver + breaker pattern, not a random PvP speed tune.

Story AP is not Hunt energy. Clearing Paradise Lost does not pause Otherworldly farming. Queue Background Battling first, then sit in the episode. Auto-sell still runs on the Hunt pile while Kain talks.

What this episode is for

Producer notes from the INFINITY showcase: Paradise Lost is compact on purpose so players who skipped eight years of lore can still follow why Kayron became an Acolyte. It is also the stage that explains why Lisette’s kit is a rewind and why Uncharted Pioneer Politis is standing on Orbis. Episode 6 Part 2 is scheduled for late 2026; Episode 7 is a new world next year. This side episode is not that. It is the 1st World origin, not the main-plot closer.

Rewards that matter:

  1. Journal illustrations and BGM (collectors).
  2. Lower Levels of the Abyss background pack (Chapter 3 clear).
  3. Context for Lisette before you spend Mystic Medals.
  4. Context for the 3 September 2026 Politis Drop Rate Up.

Nothing in the episode replaces codes, the 1,260 free Covenant summons, or Hunt Speed boots. If you only have an hour, claim the daily 20 pulls, start Background Battling, then run Chapter 1 until Seed of Despair. Come back for Chapter 3 when you have a healer who lives.

A clean clear order

  1. Confirm Episode 1 Chapter 6 is done. If not, finish getting started through that chapter.
  2. Open Side Episode: Kayron from the episode list. Equip loaned progression heroes.
  3. Clear Chapter 1 through Seed of Despair. Claim Lost Paradise.
  4. Clear Chapter 2 through Sin of Existence. Do not skip 2-5 Greed if you want the illustration.
  5. Enter Chapter 3 with a healer. Watch the Kain boss recording if the first attempt stalls.
  6. Finish Stigma of Original Sin. Claim the Abyss background pack. Let the title video play.
  7. Return to Hunt and the 8th anniversary notes for systems that actually print gear.

Paradise Lost is a story you can finish in a sitting. It is not a second Abyss. The Abyss floors guide is still the vertical skill check. This episode is the 1st World conversation that makes Lisette and Politis make sense.
