PvP in Epic Seven is online and always has been: automatic Arena, real-time World Arena (RTA), Guild Wars, and since the 8th anniversary patch, The Call of Chaos. A PvE SS farmer can be a liability on this list. Speed, souls, immunity, and draft math beat raw Attack. Meta shifts every balance patch. This page is a September 2026 read of pick patterns, not a forever ladder.
If you still cannot clear Hunt, stop here and use the PvE ranks until your gear exists. Arena medals do not drop Wyvern Speed sets. Once you have a 220+ opener, come back.
Three PvP games, not one
Cleave wants first turn, strip or unbuffable, and an AoE execute before the enemy soul weaver takes a turn. You live and die on the speed tuning tool. One point of Speed on the wrong unit is a loss. Tagahel’s Ancient Book, Song of Stars, and Portrait of the Saviors show up here more than Holy Sacrifice.
Tank-down wants a bruiser core that outlasts cleave: dual attack, injury, counter, and a soul weaver who does not die to the first S3. You trade speed for bulk and Effect Resistance. Boss Arunka sits in this conversation because she protects the carry that actually kills.
Standard / control wants CR push, soul weaver cycling, and a win condition that is not “we went first.” Perfumer Byblis is a high pick in 2026 because she plays this game and the tank-down game without asking you to coin-flip a 280 Speed contest every match.

Names that actually get picked
Perfumer Byblis — high pick in RTA and a PvE SS name on Pocket Gamer’s August 2026 list. Do not treat that overlap as a reason to skip Hunt. In PvP she is a kit, not a farm unit.
Boss Arunka — high pick as the carry-protector. As long as hyper-carries exist, a unit that keeps them alive stays in the draft. Ban or pick her when the enemy’s win condition is a single damage dealer.
Arbiter Vildred — relevant again after the May 2026 buff. He is still a cleave and a cleanup tool, not a tank-down captain. If your opener cannot feed him a stripped board, he is a 6-star sidestory farmer wearing PvP gear.
Lisette — Light 5-star Soul Weaver on Mystic from 27 August 2026. Time Reversal (PvP only, needs at least one Divinity) resets allies to the post-start state. Moonlight 5-stars dominate this list because draft wants unique passives. Use the Moonlight ranks when a selector or Mystic pity is the actual decision. Do not Galaxy-summon a name you will not gear.
The Call of Chaos
The Call of Chaos is the new 3v3 World Arena arcade mode. You do not win by wiping the enemy team. You win by destroying the Sentinel in the back row. Fallen heroes can return while that Sentinel lives. Mid-battle Fate picks (up to four selection phases, three options, take one) rewrite the match after you already locked a team. Entry costs a Ticket of Chaos. A run ends at seven wins or three losses.
That mode is not RTA with a smaller team. Fate plus Sentinel plus a one-minute pick/reroll lobby means last week’s RTA bans are a starting hint, not a script. Bring units that still function if a Fate flips CR or damage. Leave your 280 Speed glass cleave on the RTA board unless you enjoy donating tickets.
Gear and artifacts that decide games
PvP artifacts are not Hunt artifacts. Song of Stars, Tagahel’s Ancient Book, Aurius, Proof of Valor, and soul weaver tomes belong on this page. Daydream Joker belongs on Hunt. Slotting notes live on hero artifacts. If your Lisette holds Joker, you are in the wrong mode.
Speed is the first stat. Effectiveness is the second if you strip or stun. Effect Resistance is the second if you are the soul weaver who must live. Crit chance is a cleave stat, not a default. Read Arena for immunity versus counter sets; do not mix a Hunt Rage set onto an RTA opener and call it a draft.
Call of Chaos will shuffle pick rates weekly because Fate drafts punish last week’s comfort bans. Treat RTA and Chaos as different sports.
