Epic Seven Gear Score
Equipment Score is a filter: higher usually means more stats. Hunt, auto-sell, and extract still need a human pass.
Every piece of Epic Seven equipment shows an Equipment Score. Higher score means the client thinks the piece has more stats — main stat plus the substat rolls it has already revealed. That is useful. It is also how people auto-sell a 4-Speed boot because a flat-Attack weapon scored 4 points higher. Use score as a sort key, then apply the rules on this page. Set math and main-stat tables live on the gear guide. Speed gaps live on speed tuning. Where the pieces drop lives on Hunt.
How to read the number
Equipment Score is not a secret second RPG. Rough shape:
- The main stat is worth a chunk of score even at +0, and that chunk grows at +3 / +6 / +9 / +12 / +15.
- Each substat roll adds score. Speed, crit chance, and crit damage are worth more per point than a flat Attack / HP / Defense roll. Percentage rolls sit in the middle.
- Enhancement level inflates the displayed number. Community shorthand: at +15, Equipment Score is about gear score + 25. Comparing a +0 32 to a +15 70 is how you keep trash.
- Red (epic) pieces start with an extra roll versus purple. A badly rolling red can still lose to a well-rolling purple. Starting score is potential, not a finished item.
- Reforge (level 85 → 90) adds more score if the subs were real. A 96-ish reforged left-side piece is the veteran “this is fine” line; right-side (neck / ring / boots) is allowed to sit a bit lower because those slots are rarer.
Score does not know your hero. 90 on a Destruction weapon with Speed / crit / crit damage is a DPS item. 90 on the same weapon with flat Defense / flat HP / effect resistance is a paperweight for that DPS. Sort by score, then look at the four words under it.
Otherworldly Hunt is the high-score farm
Once you can enter Otherworldly Hunt, that is where high starting scores come from. Classic Hunt 13 still exists for missions and for the first clear. The drops you keep for 2026 accounts are Otherworldly: better red rate, a real chance at Otherworldly-tagged pieces, and starting scores that make a 30+ filter sane.
Rift and older side farms can dump volume. Volume is not score. If 60–80% of a farm is purple with low starting numbers, you are filling the bag for powder, not for a 284 Speed opener. Background Battling from the 8th anniversary update makes this dangerous: 100 Leif into the wrong dungeon is a night of low-score clutter.
Keep the Otherworldly tag in the filter. Those pieces have a different ceiling. Auto-selling them because the current score is 28 is how you delete a reforge candidate.
Sell versus extract
Two buttons, two products:
- Sell → gold and enhancement powder. Use it on true trash: wrong main, all-flat, low starting score, duplicate set you will never wear.
- Extract → equipment cores (and related craft / conversion fuel). Use it on pieces with a real main stat you might craft toward, and almost always on boots.
Boots are the Speed slot. Speed main is the default on most of the roster. Extracting a mediocre Speed boot still feeds the craft that might roll 4 Speed later. Selling it for powder is a 2020 habit. If inventory is the problem, extract first, then sell what cannot be extracted.
Neck and ring with the right main (crit damage, effectiveness, health %) and one good sub are extract-or-keep, not sell. Weapons / helms / armor with zero Speed and zero relevant % can be sold once you have powder. The artifacts page is a different item type — do not extract hero gear expecting artifact enhance material.
Auto-sell thresholds (27 August 2026 client)
INFINITY added auto-sell and auto-extract on the Hunt result screen. Set them before you Background Battle. A practical starting filter for a mid-game account:
| Slot | Keep if… | Otherwise |
|---|---|---|
| Boots | Speed main, or 3+ Speed sub, or Otherworldly tag | Extract, do not sell |
| Weapon / helm / armor | Epic, starting score about 30+, at least one of Speed / crit / % Attack or % HP | Sell or extract by set |
| Neck / ring | Right main stat + one needed sub, or high starting score | Extract |
| Any Otherworldly | Always review | Never blind-sell |
Tighten later. Endgame people talk about ~95 Equipment Score at +15 as “this can stay.” You do not start there. If you set auto-sell to 50 on +0 drops you will delete every piece in the game.
Simple Selection in the inventory is the manual version of the same idea: score floor, rarity floor, Speed floor, keep-Otherworldly checkbox. Run it after a 400-run background queue, not after every Wyvern.
Score is a liar in four cases
- Flat stats on a DPS. The number looks fine. The hero wanted % Attack and Speed.
- All the score is the main stat. A +15 Speed boot with empty subs still scores. It might still be the boot you wear.
- Wrong set, great rolls. A 100-score Rage piece on a soul weaver is a storage unit. Convert or extract.
- Level 88 / Otherworldly pieces use a slightly different roll table. Do not compare them 1:1 against an old +15 level 85 without looking at the subs.
If a YouTube overlay says “added gear score above 50 means great rolls,” that is talking about rolls after enhance, not the +0 number in the drop list. Translate before you copy the setting.
A 10-minute bag pass
- Sort inventory by Equipment Score, high to low. Keep anything you would actually put on the Hunt core or the RTA opener.
- Sort by Speed. Extract or keep boots with Speed. This is the speed tuning input.
- Enable auto-extract for the next Background Battle. Confirm Otherworldly is excluded from sell.
- Spend powder on the two pieces that already have Speed + the right main. Do not +15 a 22-score purple “to see.”
- Farm Otherworldly, not a nostalgia Hunt 11, unless a mission forces it.
Charm payback events (the anniversary returned a cut of EXP as Greater Charm chests) are when you spend score, not when you raise the auto-sell floor. A charm refund does not resurrect a boot you sold at 3 a.m.
Treat Equipment Score like a search bar. It finds the pieces worth a second look. The second look is still you, the hero screen, and whether 4 Speed would have won the contest you just lost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers Heirs search for every patch.
Does a higher gear score always mean a better piece?
Usually it means more stats. It does not mean the right stats. Check Speed, main stat, and set before you keep it.
Should I sell or extract boots?
Extract. Boots are the Speed slot. Selling them for powder is how you starve every tune on speed tuning.
Where do high-score pieces drop?
Otherworldly Hunt is the 2026 farm. Classic Hunt is for the first clear and missions. See Hunt.
When did auto-sell and auto-extract arrive?
With the 27 August 2026 INFINITY client. Set filters before Background Battling — notes on the 8th anniversary page.
