Epic Seven Briar Witch Iseria Hero Build
Dark 5-star Moonlight Ranger — anti-revive passive, AoE defense break + dispel, the off-switch to Lisette's Time Reversal.
Briar Witch Iseria is the Dark 5-star Moonlight Ranger that closes the door on revive kits. Her passive S2 — Witch’s Curse — declares “allies and enemies cannot revive” while she is in the fight. On top of that, she gains Immortality for one turn the first time she takes lethal damage, with a five-turn cooldown. S3 — Cursed Thorn — AoE dispels all buffs and applies Cannot Buff for 2 turns with 75 % chance to Decrease Defense when fully awakened. She is the cleanest extinction answer to Lisette’s Time Reversal, the second-pass shutdown to Specter Tenebria / Fallen Cecilia revival chains, and a hard counter to revive-cleave Arena drafts.
If you are running Hunt or building a first Hunt core, Briar Witch Iseria is not your target. If you play Arena, RTA, or The Call of Chaos, she is on the short list of units to skill. Her build, counters, and the Moonlight ranks trade-offs sit below.
Why Briar Witch Iseria is the extinction answer
Epic Seven has three named extinction sources in 2026:
- Briar Witch Iseria — passive anti-revive + AoE defense break. Best generalist.
- Prophet of the Stars Sinful Angelica — anti-revive passive on a soul weaver. Best as a backup.
- Hecate — passive anti-revive on a thief. Best in cleave drafts.
Briar Witch Iseria is the one you bring when you do not know which revive kit the enemy will pick. Her passive covers Lisette’s Fragment of Life crystals (they revert to corpses after her turn), Tama / Destina revives (turned off while Briseria is alive), and any Moonlight revive chains (Tomoca, Specter Tenebria, Fallen Cecilia under revive conditions).
The passive is passive. There is no cast. She declares it on entering combat. The enemy can kill her, but they cannot revive off her board while she is alive. That is the answer to Lisette — bring Briseria first, force Lisette to spend Divinity on a heal-only S3, then push for the win on the next round.
Skill kit
S3 — Cursed Thorn
Cursed Thorn is a 5-turn AoE (soulburn reduces cooldown). On cast:
- Dispel all buffs from every enemy.
- Apply Cannot Buff for 2 turns (100 % chance, ignores Effect Resistance).
- 75 % chance to Decrease Defense for 2 turns at full awakening.
Soulburn (-20 souls) casts S3 immediately and ignores Effect Resistance on the Cannot Buff debuff. The defense break is the damage bonus — pair Briseria with a cleave carry and the whole enemy board melts.
Cursed Thorn is the reason you bring Briseria. It is also the skill you soulburn when the AoE damage matters more than the cooldown reset.
S2 — Witch’s Curse (passive)
Two effects:
- Anti-revive: while Briar Witch Iseria is in combat, no ally or enemy can be revived.
- Self-immortality: the first time she receives lethal damage, gain Immortality for 1 turn. Cooldown: 5 turns.
The anti-revive does not strip existing revives — it stops new ones. Briseria has to enter combat before the revive happens. Plan the turn order so she is alive when the revive kit would land.
The self-immortality buys her one extra turn. Bring a soul weaver with cleanse and she survives long enough for Cursed Thorn’s AoE to land a second time.
S1 — Fallen Flower
Single-target attack with a 75 % chance to Decrease Defense and additional damage scaling with caster Attack. Falls to a 100 % chance on the second cast of the same skill. The S1 is filler for the rotation; you are not picking Briseria for S1 damage.
Stat priority
Briar Witch Iseria is a cleave / counter Ranger. The stat priority is Speed, Attack %, Hit Chance if you want her debuffs to land against an Effect Resistance stack, or Speed, Crit damage % if you are using her as a carry DPS.
- Speed: target 200–240 for an Arena / RTA opener. The RTA stats page on epic7db.com shows Master rank using Speed set 56 % of the time at a 53.72 % win rate — she is a Speed set unit, not a bruiser.
- Hit Chance: the passive S2 already grants +50 % Hit Chance, but if the enemy soul weaver has Effect Resistance, stack more. Target 100 % Hit Chance vs. 150 Effect Resistance.
- Attack %: target 2,500+ for the S3 AoE damage to clear a backline soul weaver.
- Effect Resistance: not a priority. Her kit is offensive; she kills or gets killed.
Artifacts: Song of Stars (CR push on hit) is the PvP opener default. Daydream Joker is the wrong artifact — she is not a Hunt unit. Border Coin is a luxury pick if you can keep her alive for the second AoE. Slotting notes live on hero artifacts.
Skill-ups
S3 first — Cursed Thorn is the kit. The defense break, dispel, and Cannot Buff on a 5-turn cooldown (3-turn with soulburn at full skill-ups) is the AoE that decides Arena drafts. S2 next — the passive is the extinction, and skill-ups raise the Hit Chance bonus. S1 last — Fallen Flower is filler.
MolaGora budget: dump into S3 until +6 minimum. +15 if the kit is your Arena carry. S2 to +3 for the Hit Chance bump.
Team fit
Briar Witch Iseria fits Arena cleave and RTA counter-comps. The 2026 templates:
- Arena cleave: Briseria + AoE carry (C.Lorina, Aramintha, W.Shadow) + soul weaver + flex. The AoE carry follows up on the defense break.
- RTA counter: Briseria + Specter Tenebria / Fallen Cecilia counter + soul weaver + flex. Briseria disables revive, the counter picks off the carry.
- Anti-Lisette: Briseria + Hecate + AoE DPS + soul weaver. Double extinction plus an AoE to break the crystal chain.
She is not a Hunt unit, not an Abyss unit, not an Expedition 5 carry. She is a PvP specialist that also happens to solve the Lisette problem.
Counters to Briar Witch Iseria
Briseria is strong but not uncounterable.
- Extinction immunity: a few units (Tomoca, Fallen Cecilia under revive conditions) ignore the anti-revive passive under specific conditions. Briseria does not actually block revive-passive on those units.
- Burst before turn 1: a 280 Speed cleave can kill Briseria before her passive lands. Briseria does not have immortality on entry.
- Dispel Briseria first: her passive cannot be dispelled, but the immortality cooldown can be reset by re-entering combat. If the enemy bans your Briseria on first pick, the extinction plan still works if you bring Hecate or Sinful Angelica instead.
What not to do
- Do not put Briseria in your Hunt team. Her kit is anti-revive + AoE debuff. Hunt wants Sigret, Furious, Alexa, and a soul weaver.
- Do not skip S3 molas. S3 is the entire kit.
- Do not build Effect Resistance on her. She is an offensive pick. Build Speed, Attack, Hit Chance.
- Do not bring Briseria without a soul weaver. She dies to cleave without a heal behind her, and her immortality buys only one turn.
Cross-link checklist
Briar Witch Iseria is the extinction answer to Lisette. The Lisette kit lists Briseria as the first counter. The PvP tier list ranks extinction units above revive kits in RTA season 41. The Moonlight ranks tell you how to spend Mystic medals if you can only pick one of Briseria, Lisette, or Sinful Angelica. If you play Arena and you do not own Briar Witch Iseria, you are losing drafts you should be winning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers Heirs search for every patch.
Is Briar Witch Iseria still good in 2026?
Yes. Her passive S2 anti-revive is the off-switch to Lisette's Time Reversal, Specter Tenebria chains, and Fallen Cecilia revives. Pair her with Hecate or Sinful Angelica for double extinction.
How do I counter Lisette's crystals?
Bring Briar Witch Iseria (anti-revive passive) or Hecate. The crystals cannot revive while Briseria is alive. Read the Lisette kit and the PvP tier list.
What artifact does Briseria want?
Song of Stars for Arena / RTA opener. Do not put Daydream Joker on her — she is not a Hunt DPS.
Is Briseria worth Mystic medals?
If you play Arena / RTA, yes. If you only do Hunt and Abyss, spend medals on Lisette or a Hunt carry instead. See the Moonlight ranks.
