Patch 1.0.951 Notes (Sep 2026)

Patch 1.0.951 went live on the global client shortly after the 8th anniversary window opened. It is the first balance pass after the INFINITY client, focused on the systems veterans were already complaining about: Hunt damage creep from the anniversary charms, RTA pick-rate concentration on a few Moonlight 5-stars, and a chain of small bugs reported on the official STOVE community forum. This page tracks the public changes and links to the systems that explain why they matter. Treat every number as a community observation unless Smilegate posts it on the STOVE news ticker.

The 8th anniversary INFINITY update shipped on 27 August 2026. Patch 1.0.951 follows on the same client; it does not add story, it does not introduce new heroes, and it does not move the Steam launch date. Steam’s store page is still 22 August 2026 and the client is still later in 2026. Read the Steam FAQ if you came back specifically for the PC client.

Hunt balance adjustments

The anniversary charm payoff event ran from 27 August for three weeks, which meant most active accounts dumped hundreds of Leifs into Hunt within a few days. 1.0.951 trims a handful of outliers that were trivialising the Otherworldly difficulty curve:

  • Otherworldly Wyvern: Wyvern 14-16 baseline damage reduced by roughly 8%. The 1-shot clear is still possible with the Furious / Sigret / Muwi / A.Mont core, but it is no longer free on a budget team. Speed tuning still matters — the speed tuning tool is the bottleneck, not raw damage.
  • Otherworldly Banshee: Defense on phase 2 reduced slightly so Destruction carries land a turn earlier. Banshee was already the second-most-farmed Hunt after Wyvern; this just brings it closer to parity.
  • Ogre Hunt: The set drops were fine, but the boss enraged too slowly. Enrage timer pulled in by one turn so a stalled run actually fails instead of looping. Details on what Ogre drops are on the Hunt guide.

Do not reforge gear on the assumption that 1.0.951 broke Wyvern. It did not. If your clear still works, leave it. The patch is a difficulty ceiling change, not a kit reset.

RTA season 41

RTA season 41 (the rotation tied to 1.0.951) brings a fresh list of restricted heroes and two equipment presets. The restricted list rotates monthly and is published on the STOVE community before the season opens. The headline change for the first week is that Lisette (the 8th anniversary Light Soul Weaver) is not on the restricted list — she is draftable in the new season — but the standard counter chain (Briar Witch Iseria, Prophet of the Stars Sinful Angelica, Hecate) remains intact. Extinction is still the answer to her Time Reversal mechanic. The kit breakdown is on the Lisette hero page; extinction kit options sit on the heroes hub.

E7WC 2026 in-game qualifiers start on 12 September 2026 and the Jamsil finals are on 28 November 2026. RTA season 41 is the qualifier ladder; treat the restricted list as the rulebook for the season, not the rulebook for Arena or Call of Chaos. The 3v3 Fate mode on Call of Chaos is a separate ladder.

Equipment presets were expanded from 3 to 5 slots. The new fourth and fifth slots let you save a dedicated Wyvern preset, a dedicated RTA opener preset, and a Call of Chaos opener without re-toggling artifacts every time you swap modes.

Shop rotations

  • Covenant Coin Shop (1 September 2026, monthly reset) — Schniel, Lilias, Ken for 64 coins each, one per month. Standard rotation.
  • Galaxy Coin Shop (1 September 2026) — Pirate Captain Flan, Faithless Lidica, Astromancer Elena for 40 coins each.
  • New Territory Shop tab — Equipment charms and Leifs shifted pricing. The charm bundle is cheaper than it was in August; the Leif bundle is the same. This is the page that absorbs Skystone overflow for veterans who already have every Moonlight they wanted.

Pity maths for the September banner schedule are on the summons guide. Uncharted Pioneer Politis’s pickup drops 3 September; the Chaos Zero Nightmare collab opens in the second week of September.

Bug fixes and minor notes

  • Fixed a crash when summoning 10-times immediately after maintenance ended.
  • Fixed the Background Battling counter resetting to zero after switching heroes in the same slot.
  • Fixed audio dropouts during the Paradise Lost Chapter 2 cutscene.
  • Adjusted text overflow on a few Korean client tooltips.

These are the small fixes veterans actually noticed. None of them change a build order. If a tool you used last week still works, ignore the patch.

What this patch is not

It is not the Steam client. The Steam build still ships later in 2026 and the store page has not moved.

It is not a new story episode. Paradise Lost, Lisette, and Uncharted Pioneer Politis belong to the INFINITY drop.

It is not a free Leif handout. The anniversary 20-daily Covenant summons still run from 27 August to 29 October 2026 on the event UI; that track is independent of 1.0.951.

It is not the Dimensional Exploration go-live. The permanent roguelike is still “later” — see the Dimensional Exploration note.

If a content creator tells you to roll Mystic for a non-anniversary unit because 1.0.951 buffed their kit, ask them to quote the official STOVE community post. If they cannot, the buff is a community rumour, not a number on a stat sheet.

How to update after 1.0.951

  1. Restart the client to force the patch download. Mail from a stale client will not display.
  2. Redeem any unclaimed coupon codes before the 8th anniversary batch closes.
  3. If your Wyvern clear stopped working, the most common cause is the debuff check failing on a slow Furious. Fix Speed first. Use the gear score page if the filter is the problem, not the patch.
  4. Read the RTA restricted list before queueing season 41. Banning the wrong opener costs points.
  5. Park Mystic Medals until Lisette’s banner ends or the Moonlight tier list gives you a different name to chase.

Patch notes rotate. The 1.0.951 page lives here so the next pass (1.0.952 or whatever the September mid-month hotfix is called) does not have to rewrite the anniversary article. Bookmark the Updates hub for the rolling map.
