Epic Seven Hell Raid and Morale
Two new difficulties, morale revival, free-friendly teams, and the boss cycle that rewards gear charms.
Hell Raid is the high-difficulty raid mode in Epic Seven. Three bosses per run, five runs per week, with a morale system that punishes sloppy entries. The 8th anniversary rework added two new difficulties — Advent of the Great Nature and Decay and Corruption of Nature — that drop higher gear charms and a guaranteed Epic-tier piece per clear. This page is the 2026 Hell Raid walkthrough: how to plan morale, which bosses to skip, and what teams clear without a Moonlight 5-star roster.
Hell Raid is not for new accounts. You need a Hunt-ready team, a leveled soul weaver, and at least one single-target DPS that can survive the enrage timer. If you have not cleared Expedition 5, come back later.
The new difficulty: Advent of the Great Nature
Released with the 8th anniversary, Advent of the Great Nature is the easier of the two new difficulties. Three bosses, a short morale path, and gear charm rewards that match the older raid floors. The kit check is the same as classic Hell Raid: bring a cleanser, a single-target DPS, and a soul weaver with team-wide heal.
A free-friendly Advent of the Great Nature team:
- Tank: Fallen Cecilia (Covenant summon) or Falconer Kluri (Connections specialty change).
- DPS: Specter Tenebria (limited summon) or Luna (specialty change).
- Soul weaver: Tamarinne (Connections) or Destina (Selective Summon).
- Flex: Achates (Covenant) for extra cleanse, or another DPS.
This is the team most veterans used to clear the anniversary Hell Raid. Moonlight 5-stars make it faster, not possible.
The harder difficulty: Decay and Corruption of Nature
Decay and Corruption of Nature is the late-2026 difficulty added alongside the anniversary. Higher boss HP, stronger enrage timers, and a guaranteed Epic gear piece per clear. The team composition is the same; the gear score required goes up by roughly 15%. If your Advent team could clear with 70% HP, your Decay team needs 85% HP and a defense break on every cycle.
The standard Decay team replaces one flex slot with Hecate, Briar Witch Iseria, or Sinful Angelica — the extinction trio. Decay bosses have revive mechanics that punish AoE teams; extinction ends the loop.
Morale and the camp map
Hell Raid uses a fixed camp map. Each camp gives one of: HP boost, defense boost, attack boost, or skill cooldown reduction. The morale system is more punishing than expeditions: you cannot skip camps, but you can plan which buffs to take.
A standard morale route:
- First camp — take the HP boost if your tank is undergeared; take the attack boost if your DPS is your carry.
- Mid camps — alternate between defense and attack depending on the next boss element.
- Final camp — take the skill cooldown reduction if your DPS has a long-cooldown S3; otherwise take the HP boost.
The Fribbel’s optimizer has a Hell Raid morale calculator that maps your roster to the optimal route. Use it once your roster is wide.
Boss cycle and what to skip
The three bosses rotate weekly. The official STOVE community post lists the active trio every Friday. Common boss types:
- Add-spawn boss (Juleeve, Acolyte Kaleidoscope variants) — bring AoE clear. Decay’s revive mechanic punishes AoE; skip on Decay, clear on Advent.
- Single-target burst boss (Steel Fortress, Karkanis variants) — bring Aurius tank and self-cleanse. Standard comp works.
- Boss with invuln phase (Decay and Corruption variants) — bring extinction to break the cycle.
A useful rule of thumb: if you cannot clear the first boss with 70% HP, drop down to Advent of the Great Nature for the week. Hell Raid rewards repeat clears; a partial clear still pays charms.
Rewards and gear score
Each Hell Raid clear pays:
- Gear charms (Rare, Epic, Heroic, Legendary based on difficulty).
- Gold.
- Covenant bookmarks (small amount, weekly).
- Epic gear piece (Decay only — guaranteed per clear).
The Epic gear piece is the slow, steady source of upgrade fodder for veterans. Decay clears every week is the grind that pushes a veteran’s gear score above 90 on the gear score page.
Free-friendly Hell Raid teams
The community-standard F2P Hell Raid team (no Moonlight 5-stars required) is:
- Fallen Cecilia — tank, Aurius holder.
- Specter Tenebria — single-target DPS, Daydream Joker holder.
- Tamarinne — soul weaver, Rod of Amaryllis holder.
- Achates — flex cleanser, Potion Vial holder.
This team clears Advent of the Great Nature every week on free-to-play accounts. The Decay difficulty needs a fifth Moonlight unit (usually Hecate for the revive bosses) plus higher gear score.
Cross-link checklist
Hell Raid is the second-tier PvE mode after Expeditions. If you can clear Expedition 5, you can clear Advent Hell Raid. If you can clear Advent consistently, you can start Decay with the right team.
For the gear that feeds Hell Raid, read:
- Hunt — the gear source.
- Reforge — how to push a single piece above 90 score.
- Gear score — what the number on a piece actually means.
Hell Raid is the mode veterans run for the Epic gear piece. New accounts skip it; intermediate accounts clear Advent; veterans push Decay. Pick the difficulty that matches your roster and let the charms land in the mail.
